Sacramento Seizes Advantage After 6-4 Win
The Sacramento Solons moved to within one game of the World Championship today, downing the New York Giants on the road at the Polo Grounds by a score of 6-4. Solons left-hander Tony Freitas was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 9 innings allowing 4 runs. The win gives the Solons a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-seven World Series.

This game was not decided until late. With no one out in the top of the ninth, Joe Cronin hit a sacrifice fly. The Solons took the lead, 5-4.

"We don't have much margin for error now," Giants manager said. "We need to figure out the problem and fix it, immediately."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow in New York. The scheduled starters for the game are Fay Thomas for Sacramento and Bobo Newsom for New York.
