Sacramento Takes Game One on Gibson’s 9th-Inning Blast
The Sacramento Solons needed some last-minute heroics to do it, but they ultimately emerged the winner in Game One of the World Series today. The Solons got took the 5-4 win against the New York Giants in a walk-off at Moreing Park. Sacramento first baseman Lonny Backer was named player of the game after he was 3-3 with 3 singles. The win gives the Solons a 1-0 advantage in the best-of-seven series.
