Craft 5-for-5 Against Phillies
Friday, June 6th, 1941
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Harry Craft today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Baker Bowl and paced the Reds to a 9-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies.

After his dynamite batting performance, the Cincinnati center fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."

His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Harry Craft tripled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and singled in the 9th.

On the year Craft is hitting .258 with 23 hits, 2 home runs, 13 RBIs, .298 OBP and has scored 10 runs.
